How do I make a reservation?

What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM. Check-out is at 11:00 AM.
What if I am arriving after check-in hours?
Please let us know if you will be arriving after our normal check-in hours so that we can make arrangements. Late arrivals can pick up their keys at the Rowley Inn bar across the street.
Is A Christmas Story House handicap accessible?
Unfortunately, no. The house was built in 1895 and does not include any handicap access.
How many stairs are there to climb to get to the loft.
There are a total of 32 stairs to reach the third floor loft. 4 outside stairs. 15 inside stairs with hand rails to reach the second floor kitchen area. 13 inside stairs with a middle landing and hand rails to reach the third floor loft from the kitchen.
Do you offer late check-out?
For those staying in A Christmas Story House, you must be out of the public portion of the house by 9:00 AM. You can continue to enjoy the loft area until 11:00 AM. Late check-out may be available if there is no reservation for your room that evening. If you have a late flight to catch and would like to explore the city one last time before your flight, you are also welcome to leave your baggage with us for the day until 5:00 PM. Please remember to leave your room key with us prior to departing.
Is there a minimum stay requirement?
There is no minimum stay requirement unless we will be closed for a holiday in which case there is a two night minimum stay. If you rent on holiday occasions when the House is closed you will have use of the entire house all day.
How many people can spend the night at one time?
Guest occupancy is limited to six people. There are two queen beds and two twin beds (Ralphie and Randy’s). A Pack ‘n Play is available for babies and toddlers upon request. No additional guests are allowed on property at any time without prior approval. No sleeping bags, air mattresses or cots can be brought into the rooms.
Does my baby or toddler count as one of the six people for the occupancy limit?
No. Children under 4 do not count toward the six person occupancy limit. A Pack ‘n Play is available for babies and toddlers upon request.
Can I invite additional people over to the House while I am staying there?
Prior approval is required before any additional guests can visit the property. If you wish to have guests please advise us ahead of time so that we may consider your request. Additional guests are not permitted to spend the night.
Is the nightly rate per person or for my entire group?
The nightly rate is for your entire group up to 6 people?
Is there the possibility that someone else will be staying in the house at the same time?
No. We only take one reservation per night. That reservation is for the rental of the entire house.
Is there a TV in the house so I can watch A Christmas Story?
Yes. There is a TV in the loft with a DVD player and copy of A Christmas Story. The TV also has cable.
Is there a microwave and refrigerator?
Yes. The kitchen is fully equipped with stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker.
Can I bring my pet?
No. We regret that we are not able to permit pets of any kind, as some guests may be allergic to them.
Is smoking allowed?
No. A Christmas Story House is a smoke free establishment.
Are candle or incense allowed?
No. Open flames are not permitted.
Is there a grill available or can we bring our own?
No. Grilling is not permitted. However, there is a full kitchen in the loft area.
Can I go into the basement to check out the furnace?
No. The basement is used for storage and off limits to guests. If you suspect there is a clinker in the furnace please let us know and we will take care of it.
Where do I park?
There is a lot directly across the street in front of our museum and gift shop.
Are there security cameras?
Yes. There are security cameras inside and outside A Christmas Story House. The inside cameras are in the areas used for daily public tours.
Do you offer a military discount?
Yes. We offer a 10% discount to all Military (Active, Reserve, Retired) and Veterans (valid military ID or proof of service required). Full deposit is required at reservation and discount will be applied at check-in.
