New Age Bumpus Hounds

Every year my dogs Angie and Atia (rescued pound puppies) reenact a scene from A Christmas Story, for our Christmas card. The first year, I ordered the full sized leg lamp from your web site, and we took their picture with it, displayed in our front bay window. Attached, also please find a copy of our 2009 card. I will be ordering a few props from your site shortly, to prepare for 2010! (Hint: Schwartz and Randy hats!)

MY CHRISTMAS STORY OF 2009

In November, a custom made table was made to hold all my Christmas Story ornaments and gifts.
My family said “I needed it”.
Note that the tree topper is the Leg Lamp Nightlight.
Also, Leg Lamp cookies from last years’ Cleveland Convention, for ornaments.
Unknown to me, the real surprise was yet to come at our family gathering on Christmas evening!
I was given a telegram before opening gifts, that my Major Award was to be delivered soon.
The door bell rang, and guess what was being delivered to the Davis’s?
A friend, Cliff, with a cigar and cart like in the movie, did a great job
acting out the part and delivering the FAMOUS LEG LAMP, with “FRAGILE” on the box.
A real surprise! (My husband was in on it, too!)
For the very first time living here for 42 years, the curtains and blinds were pulled open to show
my “Major Award” Christmas gift.
And yes, the neighbors gathered just like the movie…….awing and looking!
Now, we sit in our living room, with the warm glow of Electric Sex gleaming through our front window!

I convinced my son to dress as Ralphie for Halloween 2009. Honestly he wasn’t really happy about it, but somehow I managed to get him to do it. This was the only picture he’d let me take. He’s just lucky I didn’t put him in the bunny costume. Enjoy!

A Small Town Family’s BIG Tribute to A Christmas Story

| In honor of the “Greatest Christmas Movie” ever made, my family decided to construct a 9 foot tall replica of the leg lamp used in the movie: “A Christmas Story”. Each night (weather permitting) the plaster-made leg lamp is placed on top of the roof where it can be seen lighting up the night’s sky for blocks to come in Spencer, NC. The constructors of the leg lamp is my stepfather Sam Morgan, and my mother Sherry Morgan.
