Dowd Clan’s Christmas in July

Here are some pictures we took on our vacation to Cleveland. We called it “Christmas in July”. We camped at Punderson State Park, swam in Lake Erie, and went to The Christmas Story House as our grand finale. What a great city. The pictures are of our daughters, Hanna and Maddie under the sink, me giving my husband…” a bowling ball…”. The next shot is my husband giving comands to center the light from outside. The final shot is us on the porch with the lamp. This will be our Christmas card this year. I’m so glad it wasn’t too hot to wear the hats and scarves! We had a great time. Thanks for saving the house and memorabilia!

Giddier than Giddy

My friend Krista and I were among some of the very first people to get into the house on its opening day. We were giddier than giddy on this awesome day. As soon as she and I saw cupboards, we knew we had to take these pictures. “DADDY’S GONNA KILL RALPHIE!” Can’t wait until this year’s convention!

A Christmas Story Elves by Donna

Donna gave John the trip to the 2007 convention as a birthday present…and now they want to go every year! And another picture of John at the convention feeling up the leg lamp.

A Christmas Story Scrap Book

| Greetings. I am a fan of the movie “A Christmas Story.” This is a yearly movie that is shown every year in my home, and one day, I plan and want to get the “infamous” leg lamp. I have been asking for years but to no avail, like little Ralphie, even with the hints, and the pictures to post around the house, no leg lamp has appeared. Well, I belong to a scrapbook message board where I am a hostess to a Paperdoll Scrapbook Swap. For the swap, we were given the task assignment to choose a favorite movie for a “Paperdoll Movie Academy Awards Show.” Of course, I chose the beloved movie “A Christmas Story.” I had to include my lovely, can’t-wait-to-have Leg Lamp and my version of the “Red Ryder” bb gun.” The photo mat, has the words: Fragile written on them in red and green. |

Melody with Patty Johnson and Drew Hocevar who play the surly elves in A Christmas Story.
The Renaissance Hotel was the site of the actors meet and greet.
Lolly Trolley took fans from the hotel to A Christmas Story House and back again.

“Major Award” Leg Lamp Peeps
