For 2012 Department 56 will release three brand new accessories and one new building! They will also release two exclusive items: one building and one accessory. Fragile Delivery, The Last Bad Guy, and Miss Shields Fruit Basket are the new accessories. Fragile Delivery features the deliver of the “FRAGILE” crate containing the Leg Lamp. The Last Bad Guy features Black Bart escaping on his horse after Ralphie dispatched the rest of his gang in order to save the family from creeping marauders during his day dream. Miss Shields’ Fruit Basket features Ralphie bringing Miss Shields an entire basket of fruit in order to bride her into giving him an A+++++ on his theme so that he can get an Official Red Ryder 200-Shot Range Model Air Rifle! The new building is Miss Shields’s House the home of Ralphie’s teacher. The two exclusive items will be released in the later part of 2012.
Thank you for creating The Christmas Story House and Museum – I know everyone says it, but it’s truly our family’s most favorite movie (year round)!
I’d like to share some photos of my Dept 56 Village, I’m not sure what’s more fun, collecting the village pieces themselves, or finding and/or creating the perfect accessories to go with them!

Here is my Dept 56, A Christmas Story village. I have every piece including the O gauge train set under one of our trees. I use one piece that is not from the set as a filler. It took just over 12 hours to set this up.
Just wanted to update my Christmas Story village with the newly released pieces from 2010 and 2011. I have managed to fit everything on the platform so far but am running out of space. I may need to add another section to the original next year! – Robert Robinson
For 2011 Department 56 will release two brand new accessories and one new building! They will also re-release two buildings. The Last Straw and Ralphie Loses His Glasses are the new accessories. The Last Straw shows Ralphie letting bully Scut Farkus have it after being fed a snowball sandwich Ralphie Loses His Glasses shows Ralphie stepping on his glasses after they were knocked off by a bb from his brand new Red Ryder bb-Gun. The new building is The Farkus House which is the home of bully Scut Farkus. The two re-released buildings are The Uptown Theater and Schultz Optometry. Both of these buildings were originally released in 2007.
Every piece in the set is on display under our Christmas tree. This year I will have the Christmas Story O gauge train set under the tree as well. Since the board is so big, I had to use a few pieces that do not belong to the set as fillers. It takes approx 12 hours to set this display up every year.
For 2010 Department 56 released one new building and four new accessories! The Joke Shop is the store where Ralphie and Flick pick up the plastic teeth they passed out to the class for a joke on Miss Shields. The accompanying accessory Good Finds at the Joke Shop shows Schwartz, Ralphie and Flick headed to school with there finds at the Joke Shop. The other three accessories for 2010 are Farewell to the Leg Lamp,Then They’s be Sorry, and Ralphie and Ol’ Blue Save the Day.
A few village pictures and other Christmas Story stuff. OMG Schwartz was right, there is a grizzly bears behind Pulaski’s Candy Shop. And the Bumpuses have an outdoor public convenience, I bet they didn’t get any permits for that….
