Tickets can be purchased at the gift shop or in advance through our online gift shop. Tickets are valid for any visit and never expire.
Tips, while never expected or required, for your tour guide are always welcome if you feel they have done an exceptional job and provided a memorable experience.
The museum and gift shop are both located across the street from A Christmas Story House. The museum is directly across the street and the gift shop is in a separate house (white with black trim) to the left of the museum. Please see map below.

A Christmas Story House, Museum and Gift shop are closed Easter, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Years Day, all other Major Holidays and the middle two weeks of February for maintenance.
Tours run every hour starting at 10:15
All tours are guided and led by one of our knowledgeable tour guides. The last tour is an hour before closing. Guests arriving after the last scheduled tour will be permitted to enter the house and museum to look around until 30 minutes before closing.
Tour times may vary slightly. Tickets must be purchased prior to the last tour.
Tickets can be purchased at our gift shop located diagonally across the street from the house.
During Summer and Christmas time tours may at management discretion switched from guided to self guided in order to accommodate all of our guests. During self guided tours, tour guides with be stationed through out the House and Museum to provide information and answer questions.
